HOW WE'RE DIFFERENT
The Wilson Academy is a private, accredited, elementary, middle & high school. We have a unique approach to education and our success comes down to The Three E’s:
ENVIRONMENT
No matter how smart your child is, the wrong environment will keep your child from reaching his or her potential. The Wilson Academy does not accept students with behavior problems or a history of behavioral infractions; so we are a safe, bully-free environment. By enrolling your child at The Wilson Academy you can surround him or her with students who want to be here, want to behave, and want to learn.
EDUCATION
Our average class size is 16 students (our limit is 20). Every year our critical-thinking based program helps our students earn thousands in college scholarship dollars, with a school total well into the millions! We have several key components:
-
Small classes – Our average class size is 16 students (our limit is 20).
-
Skill-based Classes – We group our students based primarily on ability, rather than what grade they’re in. This takes a great amount of effort, skill, and experience to implement properly – which is why this approach is so unique.
-
Unique Curriculum – You won’t find our curriculum anywhere else. That is because it was created BY The Wilson Academy specifically FOR our students. We have discarded the rigid, generalized components found in most curriculum, and replaced them with innovative solutions that have proven to be successful.
-
Financial Education – We don’t know what our students will do for a living, but we do know they will have money. This is why financial education is a vital component of our curriculum. Students learn not only how to manage money, but how to make their money work for them.
-
STEM – Many future career opportunities will require proficiency in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math; so, our curriculum ensures our students will be prepared. In fact, many of our graduates select engineering majors in college.
We have high expectations for our students because we provide them with the instruction, support, and resources they require to be the successful students you want your children to be.
EXPOSURE
At The Wilson Academy, we realize that not all learning takes place in the classroom. Our students regularly take college visits (both in and out-of-state), perform community service, and have curriculum-related field trips every month. We expose our students to different cultures, different ideas, and even different countries as part of our International Travel Initiative.
About Our Curriculum
The Wilson Academy has its own curriculum geared towards cultivating internationally competitive students. Our curriculum focuses on critical thinking skills; and as a result, our students are able to proficiently use logic, deductive reasoning, and problem-solving skills. All of our classes are college prep, and our financial education initiative is woven into all that we do. Additionally, our commitment to providing students with exposure and opportunities ensures our students are prepared for the next level.
Our Year-round Schedule
At The Wilson Academy, we operate on a year-round schedule. Rather than the traditional 8-10 week summer break, our students have a six-week summer break with several week-long breaks throughout the school year. As such, our students have more continuity and more opportunities to learn. Studies show that students enrolled in year-round programs typically outperform students in traditionally scheduled programs.
Individual Growth Concept
At The Wilson Academy, your child isn’t a number. Every student has different talents, skills, interests, and learning curves. As such, students often require different paths to success. At The Wilson Academy, we focus on individual growth. One of the ways we do this is by teaching based on ability rather than grade level.

Financial Education
Now, more than ever, our students need to be prepared to thrive in an ever-changing world economy. That’s why at The Wilson Academy, we have a financial component. Financial education is incorporated within our core curriculum, so that our students are taught how an economy works, how to properly budget their money, and how to make their money grow. One of the things we realized a while ago is that we needed to change the way we look at education. Most schools, both public and private, are preparing students for a workforce that doesn’t actually exist. So, now we have a country full of people who have degrees they can’t use, and a ton of debt. At The Wilson Academy, we place our focus on how we can make sure our students have viable futures. And that means making sure
they can actually think and solve problems. But it also means understanding the direction of our economy, understanding that technology makes the world smaller, and encouraging innovation.

S.T.E.M. Education
The ten highest earning careers upon graduation are all STEM careers. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The Wilson Academy has incorporated a STEM focus into our already rigorous and well-balanced curriculum. We work with STEM consultants to incorporate math and science content that is both valuable and practical.
